Resources

Are you supporting grandchildren grieving their living grandparent?

There are not many materials available that enable support of a child or young person missing a living person - ambiguous loss as it is known in the UK is still relatively unknown.

We are currently developing resources to support grandchildren in schools and families.

If you find a resource, toolkit, website, video, toy or book, please let us know via the Contact Form and we will add it here.

Thank you.

Naval Children's Charity toolkit
Doing Distance is a separation-based psychological toolkit for children and young people whose parent is in the armed forces. Whilst not the same situation, there are useful suggestions re supporting a child or young person's identity by creating a family tree or growing forget-me-not flowers.

Bear Us In Mind
This psychological toolkit was developed for Ukrainian refugee children and young people.
The components can be used individually or together - we specifically recommend the Growing Around Grief and Little Box of Big Thoughts activities for estranged or alienated grandchildren.
